WITSAND | THE Whale Nursery of South Africa
A wide variety of upmarket , graded 3 star Self-catering holiday homes with stunning water views and farmland views. All houses are different in style and size,but all are very well equipped, including linen and bath towels . Safe parking, braais and colour TV`s some with DSTV (bring card).
Witsand is situated at the mouth of the Breede River, (off N2 at Heidelberg) and well known for fishing. birding and "THE" Whale Nursery of SA. During Jul and Nov each year the largest concentration of Southern Right whales are found in our Nursery. Oct 2008 aerial survey there were 62 cow/calf pairs counted on one day, and 165 whales in the Nursery in total! Not unusual to see up to 70 whales in the bay on one day.
Most houses have en-suite bedrooms, ranging from 2 sleepers to 12 sleepers. We also offer accommodation for budget conferencing, team building and church groups.
Rock angling, fishing on the river and fly fishing is very popular. Kite boarders, nature lo vers, birders, hikers love it here, and so do artists and photographers.

Tariffs depend on howmany people in your party, which house you chose, how long you stay, and when you visit.
Longer stays, out of peak season do get discounts aswell as regular clients.
