DESCRIPTION
Mossel Bay is one of the larger seaside resorts along the Garden Route and a town well worth exploring. During your visit, you might stumble upon a giant milk wood tree, which used to be a "post office" in the 1500's. If history does not make your heart miss a beat, then bungee jumping at the Gouritz River Bridge might. Or walk the spectacular St Blaize Trail, a perfect introduction to the spectacular coastline and Southern Right, Humpbacked and Brydes whales are often spotted from here. Seal Island, in the middle of the bay, is inhabited by colonies of Jackass penguins and Cape fur seals. A boat, departing from the harbour, will take you there. For a truly exhilarating experience, go scuba diving with the endangered great white sharks (they need feeding). Or just sit back, feet up, enjoying your favourite drink watching the colours changing on the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains.
