Agulhas normally receives about 276mm of rain per year and because it receives most of its rainfall during winter it has a Mediterranean climate. The chart below (lower left) shows the average rainfall values for Agulhas per month. It receives the lowest rainfall (10mm) in January and the highest (36mm) in July. The monthly distribution of average daily maximum temperatures (centre chart below) shows that the average midday temperatures for Agulhas range from 17.2°C in July to 25°C in January. The region is the coldest during June when the mercury drops to 7°C on average during the night.
